NEW Titleist AP1 & AP2 Review! We Hit’em! You Can Too!

Just in this week here at Novadell are the 2011-2012 upgraded AP1 & AP2 irons.  This third edition for the Titleist iron sets is MUCH improved from older editions and after going through our product testing proved to be in the top two brands for irons launched this fall.  Each set comes stock with a different shaft but custom options are available as well as custom lie and loft angles as well.

The NEW AP1 iron features the most significant changes among the two with an upgraded look.  This iron was already famous for its forgiveness coupled with signature Titleist performance, but now it features a more classic look.  Older versions of the iron had a thick top line and quite a bit of offset.  Appearance has greatly improved with this iron.  I am in fact thinking really hard about putting these clubs in my bag and I have played blades for years.  The iron body is made of stainless steal and the iron has a high density tungsten weight in the sole.  I saw the most improvement in the mid irons over previous versions.  One observation i had after testing was an increase in the height of the shot.  This attribute has to be weighed out as some people may already have a high flight.  For those of you that need the lift, Two Thumbs Up!

The AP2 iron has also improved.  The overall look is much more sleek and easily recognizable.  In fact I noticed Zach Johnson had these in the bag at the Chevron World Challenge.   The iron gives a supreme player look but packs a punch on shots that aren’t perfectly center.  (If you are the guy that hits it perfectly center every time, Titleist still makes a classic blade called the MB.  Us normal folk need the forgiveness!)  I really enjoyed the workability the iron provided as well as the ball flight.  I noticed the distance was just a hair shorter than the AP1 but I am willing to give that up for a preferred ball flight.  I recommend the club to the better player who still wants forged and to work the ball but has decided the tour is not in their future.    The club has a forged carbon steel head and a tungsten weight sole.  I give this club Two Thumbs Up as well, but choose this club only if you consistently stay around the center of the club.  If you have a lot of -hits, go AP1!

Now, Why is all this important?  Because WE HAVE DEMO SETS of both of these!  Don’t buy until you test!  Don’t buy until you speak with our professional staff about shaft, loft, and lie recommendations!
